Praise to the Lord

How often do we actually Thank God for just being alive? I am a part time volunteer ambulance driver/medic for Magen David Adom. I do an 8 hour shift once a week in Jerusalem and every time without fail when I come home I thank the good Lord for being able to breath, walk and eat by myself, for the fact that all my systems work and for not having to rely on a filipino to take care of me. For that matter for also having food to eat, clothes to wear, a bed to sleep in, a home to go to, for having a loving wife, adorable children and grandchildren. Pesach is a time of Joy and it is a biblical commandment to be happy during the festival. I also thank God that I don't have to be told to be happy.
